Getting to know our guy:  Kevin Moore

My first car was a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ...My friends nick-named it the Smokin 400.  After I blew up the original motor, I put in a built motor out of a Trans Am.  Unfortunately, it had no gear or stall so it was a pig, but once it got moving it would fly.. :)

I was always interested in drag racing.  This comes from going to US 30 with my dad and watching it when it was on ABCs Wide World of Sports...

My favorite memory is the only time my dad rode in my 1969 Chevelle (which to this day I still have and still race)...At the time he was pretty sick with cancer.  One night I brought it by his house to show him some of the mods I had finished on it.  He really didn't like me wasting my money on it even though he was a gear head himself.  He surprised me and asked me to take him for a ride, so I get on it a bit and he says "I thought you were going to show me what this could do".  So here we are in the middle of Michigan City Road, I put it on the trans brake and let it fly.  When we got back to the house he was still grinning ear to ear.  About a week later he passed away...

I have been in the aftermarket business for over 17 years.  Over the years I have held several positions beginning with salesman, then a pricing manager and most recently a buyer.  My newest adventure is a high performance speed shop owner (which now incorporates a little of all the previous positions I held).

I have been racing since a week after I had my license....shhh, do not tell my mom that :)

My hobbies are drag racing, hot wheels and music.  I currently have a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 with a big block and lots of monkey bars inside.  I have been 8.74 @ 156 mph.  I have a hot wheels collection that my dad left me which consists of about 20,000 cars.  My favorite hot wheels are the red lines which are in my opinion the coolest.  I like all types of music, pretty much anything that rocks from Country to Metal.

I have lived in the area all my life but mostly in Calumet City and Lansing.  I went to TF North for High School.  Then attended South Suburban and Purdue-Calumet for college where I completed 2 Associates degrees and a Bachelor's degree.

Adam Nossem:

My love of cars began like just about every other guys with the track.  Mine was in the 80's when I hung out at US30 with Bill Gibson and family.
From there it grew and after high school I participated for awhile in a local Top Sportsman program which enable me to then move on to be the clutch mechanic for 3 years on a NHRA Top Fuel Team.
Prior to joining Monster, I also did fabrication for Low 7/High 6 second cars.
My personal ride at the moment is a Nova with an LS motor but I have owned half a dozen or so mustangs in the past.

The two lifts now at Monster !!

So it all started as a child - my first word was "car".  Racing was a family event and evolved from there.  I have been racing since I was able to drive. All my past jobs have been car related from Mechanic to Service Advisor to working at Auto Part Stores.
Long time grudge racer - Snoopy is the car I race since 2011.
